The ethics of health sciences has always been a feature of the university college, and since the end of the 80s research in the area has been built up and developed. A generous donation from Margareta Hamilton has enabled the development of a number of interesting research projects. Research and education in the nursing course amongst others has been deepened and gained a strong profile in the university college.

By means of the annual Hamilton Seminar, Ersta Sköndal University College reinforces a regular and more systematic outward- directed discussion of issues relating to health care ethics, where the ambition is to present current research in applicable areas.
