Research and education are interdependent in a variety of ways. Research is vital for a university college that has high ambitions regarding the quality of the education it offers. Research is also necessary for the academic culture we uphold. During the year, a research faculty made up of a number of senior postgraduates was created. The task of the research faculty is to contribute to the development of research at the university college. This will be accomplished through several means – through co-ordination of contributions, guaranteeing the quality of the research carried out, and through focus on national and international contacts. Prioritised work that has been initiated this year has been the development of doctoral studies which will make up the foundation of the university college’s profile for future work during the coming five to ten years.
