Borrowing library materials
Loan lengths
- The loan period for most items is 21 days.
- For course books the loan period is limited to 14 days.
- Items may be renewed 8 times as long as they have not been requested.
- Patrons are obliged to keep track of when their loan periods expire and to ensure that items are returned on time. The overdue fine is SEK 5 per day and item for ordinary loans and SEK 15 per day and item for course books. For 1-day loans the overdue fee is SEK 25 per day and item. The overdue fine is to be paid as quickly as possible. If the overdue fine exceeds SEK 100 the patrons right to borrow materials from the library is withdrawn and an invoice is sent. The maximum fee to be paid on one occasion is SEK 250.
- An overdue notice will be sent at the end of the loan period. After three reminders the patrons right to borrow materials from the library is withdrawn.
- If the material is not returned, despite reminders, the customer will be asked to pay the replacement cost for any item lost whilst in your possession. If you lose your loan card please contact the library for a replacement (costs SEK 10).
Borrowing music
Contact the library staff if you want to borrow music CD's (the records are kept locked up). The loan period is 21 days.
Printing and copying
Copy cards can be bought charged at an automatic vending machine on both campuses. At campus Ersta the dispenser is placed in the student common room on the ground floor. At campus Sköndal it is placed in the computer room in Botvidsgården (a pass to get in is necessary and can be obtained from the porter).
A card costs SEK 30 and is rechargeable (15 copies included). Copy fee when recharging: 50 öre per copy/printout.
Suggest a purchase
Suggest books and journals that you think should be acquired for the library collection. Send us an e-mail (biblioteket.ersta(at)esh.se), but please tell us for which of the two libraries the suggestion is intended.
