About CivLib / the Collections
CivLib aims to be an important resource for Swedish and European civil society research.
The Centre is primarily directed towards researchers and students at universities both in Sweden and abroad. Other target groups are decisionmakers at ministries and public authorities, practitioners in the non-profit sector as well as journalists and the general public.
We are building a collection of books and journals with an emphasis on civil society while at the same time providing access to e-journals and databases. With a starting point in our physical collection we are also compiling a database with references to books, chapters in edited works and articles in leading journals. Our material will also be searchable through the library catalogue and as a subdatabase of the Swedish national union catalogue, Libris.
We're aiming to cover the civil society from all its aspects, but our main focus is on the social dimension.
We’re acquiring primarily, but not exclusively, material in Swedish and English.
We also provide a selection of internet resources.
The Centre is a part of Ersta Sköndal University College Library, located at Stigbergsgatan 30 in Stockholm. The CivLib collection, as well as the main library, is open to the public.
